As the song nearly says.....

I joined the DSS to see the sea and what did I see?

I saw the Tower, the Illuminations and, of course., the sea! But after 4 years of pensions, it was time to move on - to Southampton ,and  London and from there the world, And where did that world begin? At a Conference in Washington DC! at which  Americans had wanted to learn  how we  Brits and other countries operated. our pension arrangements. What I had described .was picked up by some one involved in  the introduction and regulation of the newly legalized private pensions in Russia.

Perhaps, what  I had described at Washington could assist in advising the Russian ministry  and  similarly government officials  in Russia and Kyrgyzstan. I was recruited..

Leaving Central  Asia i led training courses on pensions in a number of countries in East and West Africa and the Caribbean

.

After working in Russia I worked for 5 years in Beijing. On returning home to Bannister Close I started helping in a toddler group at our church.  

So why Bannister? Our road is named after Roger, the first man to run a mile in less than 4 minutes. 

 

While working in China I produced a number of  since published reports for the EU-China Social Security Reform Co-operation Project
